Building a community that brings new opportunities to the students of CITY-AS-SCHOOL

What are we doing?
City-As-School was founded in 1972 to help students discover a new way of learning by offering them multiple types of experiences. Often, opportunities like internships, college classes, and workshops are only available to children who attend private school or who have achieved academic success already. City-As-School is built on a model that would give ALL students these opportunities and help those who learn more efficiently in different environments flourish.
In the next few weeks, a few City-As alumni will present this website as a platform for alumni networking, a crowdsourcing space for new opportunities to give to the current students of City-As, and a fundraising space for singular projects. We want to help reinvigorate the City-As educational model by mobilizing people who love this school and the benefits it brings to young New Yorkers.
Please stay tuned for the website launch. If you want to get in touch and be involved, let us know!

Send City-As Kids to Paris, France!
Help us take 13 students and 4 staff members to visit Paris and work with the Nouvelle Chances de Blanc Mesnil school, a French school working with a model of Productive Education, just like City-As!!
An international experience should be available to all high school students regardless of socioeconomic status, goals and/or interests. City-As-School students will get the opportunity to experience new perspectives, learn how to navigate different cultures, and collaborate with peers and educators in a diversity of settings and languages. These skills and experiences are crucial for success in career or academic pursuits.
City-As-School is founded on the principles of experiential learning through real-world community collaboration.
